Mr. Snail

Found this little guy outside my home and had to grab a few shots.

All shots were taken with a 50mm f/1.8 Nikkor lens, with a close up filter of +4.

Market Day

A few shots from the new Food Market in Bastion Square.

Some More Early Images

A few more early images with my new Nikon D80.

Tiny spider hanging over my steps. Used closeup filters to provide enough magnification.

Beer bottle with a close up filter of +4, a polarizer filter, 50mm at f/5.6.

Red flower of some sort in the living room, not a horticulturist as you can tell. Shot using a tripod, a Hoya close up filter +4, and two white cards for bounced lighting to fill in some shadow areas.

My cat on some cool rocks in the park behind behind us. Tweaked the white balance to alter the effects of an otherwise fairly dull palette of a backdrop, but left some warm tones in the foreground.

Experimented by converting this one to black and white, while leaving a touch of color in the eyes.

Added a tint to this one to give it a different feel from the otherwise fairly dull palette of a backdrop.

First Images with new D80

A lighthouse at the end of Sidney spit. 50mm f/6

Sandal at Sidney Spit Beach. 50mm, f/2

My tasty BBQ salmon. 50mm f/2

Sunflower blooming. 50mm, f/2.4 with close up filter.

Some tiny purple flowers on my deck. Used a Hoya close up filter on my 50mm lens to create an almost abstract pattern of color.
